The piece by Andy Duffy in the last issue has received the most feedback in the history of the magazine. It received both bad and good feedback with Andy and I taking some criticism and garnering some support. I will use my editor's note in the upcoming issue to publish some of the feedback and address the questioning of my judgement. So, be sure to check it out.
The next issue will be much less controversial. We will have pieces on trout selectivity, Isle Royale, The Jordan River, a great fly from Chris Therssen, and essay on the trout opener, and another great short fiction piece from Jeff Vande Zande. We will welcome a new photographer that has provided a great cover shot and a new writer who some will recognize. It should be a good one.
We are busy preparing for the big show next month at the Lyon Theater. The guys over at Colton Bay Outfitters have announced an after party at The South Lyon Hotel. Their recent newsletter says tickets to the show and after party are going fast so be sure to contact them for details.
Corry over at the hotel has been generous enough to provide us with a discount coupon for those that are not able to attend the after party. If you would like to check out the hotel pre-show just let me know via e-mail and I can shoot you the coupon. If you are going to check out the hotel after the show, we will provide coupons at the show for those interested. The discount is pretty outstanding and Corry mentioned that he might have something special in the works with the chefs over at the hotel.
My thanks goes out to Colton Bay for all the support and to The South Lyon Hotel for their participation in what is sure to be a great show.
I was able to stop in and see the upgrades to The Lyon Theater last week and I will say that they have outdone themselves. New digital equipment, a new paint job, lighting, and screen have all been added. Holly over at the Lyon has also been very supportive of our efforts to bring the F3T to South Lyon.
It should be a great show.
