We did better than last year for sure but still short of our goal when it comes to the subscription drive for Huron Pines. We will close this drive out at the end of February; so, there is just a few days left if you would like a dollar from your sub to go toward helping the rivers and streams of northeast Michigan. I will cut the check for Huron Pines before I attend the upcoming Midwest Fly Fishing Expo. I hope to see you there.
A Quick F3T Update:
We have added a couple of other sponsors that need to be mentioned.
Woodland Rivers Guide Service will be giving away a half days guided trip on waters local to the Detroit area. Kip Lowrie and the crew over at Woodland Rivers are great guides and fly tiers. So, be sure to look them up if you are in need of a local guide or some flies for that next outing.
The Third Year Fly Fisher is going to send over a few DVD's to give away during the show. Rob Thompson's fly fishing DVD's are second to none when it comes to the great camera work. Rob also tosses in a good bit of storytelling with each film and that, for me, is his great twist on the fly fishing genre. He mixes that intense anticipation of the next fish with a compelling storyline.
The Painted Trout is also going to provide some swag to give away at the show. Lauren is an artist beyond compare when it comes to her trout fishing and bird hunting collectibles. If you have not seen some of the items over at The Painted Trout you owe it to yourself to take a long look through the site.
Thanks again to all the supporters of our upcoming Fly Fishing Film tour stop in South Lyon and if you have not gotten over to Colton Bay or the F3T website for your ticket you should do it fast before they are all gone.
