Tuesday Update

I received the tickets, fliers, and posters for the big Fly Fishing Film tour show yesterday.  I have to say it looks great to see the magazine's name and the theater's name on the material.  As I mentioned before the feedback has been great and I will continue to work on some more give-aways.  I have secured some items but we need a few more.  So, if you have a fly fishing related product that you would like to provide for a give-away at the show please let me know.  We will go out of the way to plug your company or organization during the social hour before the show and during the intermission.

The feedback from the ticket side has also been good.  So, get your tickets while you still can and prepare for a great show.  For the advanced discounted tickets you can just drop me a line at chuck@thecedarsweeper.com  , everything is operational again with this e-mail address.

I will now go to work, armed with my posters etc., on hopefully securing some discounts from the local restaurants and taverns.  It should be easy to identify those attending the show via their tickets and should be easy to provide a discount on a meal or drinks.  I will keep everybody posted and announce the give-aways and participating organizations as we get closer to the show.

I don't want to forget to plug our upcoming event at Bass Pro Shops.  On January 31, 2013 we will be at Bass Pro Shops White River Fly Shop in Auburn Hills as a sponsor of their annual fly tying bash.  We have sponsored this event for the last few years and we always have lots of fun.  This year Wayne Snyder, who heads up the fly shop, has lined up guest tier Jerry Regan and a screening of his own short film Ojibwa Star.  I can't wait for this event.  I love talking to all the great folks that come out to tie up some flies, shop the newest gear, and this year ... view a short film.  It is always a good time.

I am currently working on the next issue as the copy comes in.  I hope to feature a couple of new faces this issue in the form of Jerry Kunnath and Nathan York.  The issue should contain a great piece on southeast Michigan trout fishing, explore Traver and his writing, a great fly and recipe from Chris Therssen, a column on fly fishing as a love affair, and another great short fiction piece from Vande Zande.  It should be a good one.  I think I have ironed out the kinks with the layout and the margins that we ran into with the last issue.

Thanks for checking us out here at the blog, over at our facebook page, in person at an upcoming event, or in print.  Also, don't forget that you can always drop us a line anytime at chuck@thecedarsweeper.com .  We would love to hear from you.
